Our second day at Island School was welcomed with a fresh blanket of snow and a gentle cold breeze. The chickadees were out this morning; and several students were about collecting sap to boil for a new batch of maple syrup.  Students are out in full force taking part in 'predator & prey' activities.

     

 

 

Our first day at Island School has been filled with rain and a chill in the air, but also wonderful learning of the science behind understanding the importance of protecting our environment.

A big thank you to Tanya our guest poet and The League of Canadian Poets for funding today's workshop.  Tanya expertise as a spoken word poet allowed room 301 and 308 to see themselves as poets who can use their everyday experience to express themselves.
