Today:  Students were true ambassadors of McMurrich while we were guests at the Yorkdale Apple store.  They respectfully and purposefully collaborated in partners using iMovie to create a PSA on a local/global issue that concerns them & how they want to bring about change in our communities.  Thank you to our parent volunteers, we couldn't have been successful today without your support.

REMEBRANCE DAY (CANADIAN WAR HERO)
What is a biography?
NOTE: Step 1 to 3 is due Wednesday November 13th. Step 4 is due Monday November 18th.

Step 1:
Record the name of 2 Canadian Heroes that you would like to study and learn more about.
Consider the following timeline when looking up different Canadian Heros (both men and women)
*  1850-1900
*  1900-1950
*  1950-2000
*  2000-2013

Step 2:
Generate jot notes on your Canadian War Hero which you will use to write a biography on your selected military hero.

Use the link above to help guide your writing.

Step 3:*  Guiding research ideas
      1.  Birth, Death
      2.  Major life events
      3.  Major/significant event that took place in their military life

Step 4:
      Once you have finalized your research consider the following and answer
      1.  Why do you think he/she is a war hero?
      2.  Describe the contribution(s) he/she made to Canada.

Both in-class and at-home time is needed effectively to complete your biography.
